Clear space. Clear mind.

Welcome to my practice!

I'm Dr. Neary, a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry. Beyond my clinical credentials, I bring a unique blend of passions, experiences and personal values to my work.

My Story

As a young person, I always enjoyed being active, playing sports and spending time outside whenever possible. I also sought out meaningful connections with others. I grew up in a divorced family with a younger brother with Down syndrome and high anxiety. He taught me an immense amount of compassion, patience (by constantly challenging it), and skill in guiding people through debilitating states of complete overwhelm.

In college, I participated in a month-long backpacking & sea kayaking trip in the Alaskan wilderness with the National Outdoor Leadership School. I returned with a heightened confidence in my own gentle, steady leadership style as well as an inspiration for teaching. I spent the following summers in Colorado working as a trip leader at a rustic, off-grid summer camp, facilitating outdoor skills building as well as leadership development on our multi-day wilderness trips. With my bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and passion for holistic health, I considered a career in Naturopathic medicine. However, instead I headed to Teton Science Schools in Jackson, Wyoming to pursue outdoor education, leading middle and high school students throughout Teton National Park–teaching place-based learning of ecology, biology, geology and flora/fauna identification skills. While in Jackson WY, I attended a TedX talk on ethnobotany, which refueled my inspiration for pursuing a path in integrative medicine.

My journey into integrative psychiatry was inspired by my desire to bridge the gap between conventional medicine and holistic approaches supporting the mind-body connection. With over 12 years of experience in integrative health, I've explored diverse modalities to provide comprehensive care to my patients. From attending immersive leadership programs in integrative medicine to co-founding medical school initiatives promoting its adoption, I'm committed to delivering personalized treatment that addresses the physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of healing.

Being queer and transgender myself, my dedication to LGBTQIA2S+ advocacy is a cornerstone of my practice. I know from personal experience how painful, isolating and exhausting a gender journey can be. Through presentations, quality improvement projects, and clinical care, I strive to create a safe and affirming space for individuals of all identities. Additionally, my involvement in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives reflects my commitment to fostering an environment where everyone feels seen, heard and valued.

Outside my clinical work, I find fulfillment in leading a simple yet adventurous life, grounded in a deep appreciation for the natural world and sustainable living practices. Whether I'm exploring the wilderness or engaging with local regenerative farmers, I am continually inspired by the beauty of simplicity and the lessons it offers. These experiences have shaped my approach to healing, reinforcing the significance of holistic well-being and genuine connections.

In my practice, I specialize in working with teens and young adults facing challenges related to mental health, identity, and relationships. Using a fusion of holistic lifestyle approaches, psychotherapy, and Western medicine, I empower individuals to reclaim their wellness and thrive. I prioritize marginalized communities, providing gender-affirming care, support for neurodivergent individuals, and advocacy for those facing racial and ethnic disparities.
